Just an update from the last post....I'm still getting ice in the bottom of the freezer. Maybe I should really break down and call GE.....

Wow! I haven't blogged since May. It's been a busy summer. There's a lot of things I haven't gotten to do since late spring. I think that's why I love fall and winter...well that's why I love all the seasons....you get to see the changes. Summers are busy with all of your plans. In the fall things start winding down wrapping up. Winter is the time to rest and recoup and plan for the following summer. In spring you start the whole cycle over again. So now it's time to start wrapping things up and getting back to projects left forgotten over the summer....like blogging.

So, over the weekend, we started getting this funky smell in the house and we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Somewhere in the kitchen...but where? So Sunday night, Alisha decided to check behind the fridge for dead mice(which was the suspected origin of the odor), due to my girlish squeemy-ness about dead mice. Nope..no dead things, but there was a newly emptied box of Decon.

On a parallel note(you'll see where this is going), my freezer has been getting a serious ice build up in the bottom of it for the last year or so. I'm not talking a little frost, I'm talking about on inch or two of ice across the whole bottom at least once a week. A few months ago, I tried turning off the ice maker and the water hose going to it, but it didn't fix the problem. Since my busy summer has ended and I can't just sit and watch TV without feeling antsy, I've been doing those little forgotten household projects. Last night I was fixing the damn freezer. I decided that I would totally disconnect the hose from the fridge this time. As I pulled out the fridge, Alisha said 'watch out for the dead mouse'. I laughed and said there wasn't one back there. As I started to remove the screws from the back of the fridge she made the same comment, this time about the mouse being in the fridge. I laughed and said there's no way it could get in there(this being said after Alisha questioning the poor ventilation since almost the entire back side is solid). When I opened the bottom panel, I said 'nope, no mouse...but there are decon crumbs'. These, in my head, having been sucked in through the slots. As I got ready to disconnect the hose, I looked down, and there it was...yup...the dead mouse, in a little plastic section, inside my fridge. Naturally I freaked out and told Alisha to get it out. She then proceeded to rifle through the cooking untensils looking for tongs(eww...I know....) and removed it. When she started moving toward me with it, I freaked out even more and yelled 'Don't you dare chase me with that' as I deftly placed a chair between us. She said she was going outside to put it in the big garbage can as she had just put a new bag in the kitchen garbage. Needless to say, I relaxed a lot more after she came back in with empty tongs. My next comment was 'hmm...that would make a great blog entry, too bad I haven't blogged in forever'. Of all the things to get you back on track.........

Oh, yeah, I disconnected the hose, put everything back in order. Let's hope it works!
